                        Welcome to the pyrography site of Edward Cogswell.  Thank you for visiting!

Who is Edward Cogswell? Ed likes to ride Mindy in Parades, here he is in a revolutionary war  outfit,  rideing in the 4th July Parade in Winslow, Maine. I am the 12th generation in this country and my Cogswell number is 9524.  I am a 32 degree Mason at the Central Lodge No. 45, A.F. & A. M. China, Maine, also am a Shriner at Anah Shriners , Bangor, Maine.  I am the 2nd Vice President of the Cogswell Family Association (website www.Cogswell.org) In addition, I am the author of the book: Civil War Cogswells at Battle of Vicksburg, Miss.

Product Description: 1st Illinois Light Artillery Regiment, Battery M (Cogswell's Battery) Monument located outside of Vicksburg National Military Park on former park property, on Sherman Ave. approximately .5 miles west of the junction with Standard Hill Road. This unit was attached to Brig. Gen. William Sooy Smith's 1st Division of Maj. Gen Cadwallader C. Washburn's XVI Army Corps (Detachment) and was commanded by Lt. Henry G. Eddy. (Capt. William Cogswell commanded all 1st Illinois Light artillery.)

Though I have vast experience in many things, my passion is pyrography.  Here are some of the awards the I have won:

  • Won "Best of Category" in the Augusta Armory , Woodcarving and Wildlife Art Show (2009)
    • First Place, Second Place and Third Place for various work
  • 1st Place, Blue Ribbon in Wood Craft at the Clinton Maine Town Fair (2009)
